Afghan Culture and Tradition
“We are rich indeed because we are the heirs of several successive cultural waves”

Afghan History goes back hundreds of years with several phases, each more brilliant than the other. At one point we were at the crossroads of civilizations, our cities were beacons of knowledge and people for far away sought our cultural guidance.
Today the strength of our society resides in its resulting diversity. We are rich indeed because we are the heirs to several successive cultural waves. As we struggle to emerge from the chaos of decades of war, as we figure out how to redesign our cities and how to replant our gardens, we need to reclaim our History in order to build our future on solid grounds.
Indeed a people without History is a people without future. We need to understand who we were so that we can project who we will be.
