The Launch of Afghanistan Children’s Song book

H.E the First Lady of Afghanistan took part and gave a speech in the ceremony of the launch of the Afghanistan Children's Song Book. H.E the First Lady thanked the Ministry of Education, Save the Children Organization, poets, writers and Afghan National Institute of Music for their efforts and stated,” Songs are one of the most important part of the culture that is included in every aspects of our lives. During the New Year’s celebration songs as (Biya ke borim ba Mazar, Samanak, Gul Ghundi, and Gul Lala) and in wedding parties songs as (Ahesta Bru) are sang.” She also added “Through publishing the Children’s Song book, we are introducing our culture to the new generation and help our culture to be rich. I believe that you , the writers and poets, will put an end to the illiteracy and bad situations of this country, change the negative thoughts to positive ones, replace violence with kindness and your poems will keep the culture alive.” This book that has been written in three languages (Dari, Uzbeki and Pashto) covers topics as peace, acceptance, girls, homeland and many other topics. Dr. Sami Hamed, Mr. Aajmal Turman, Mr. Alam Gul Sahar, Mr. Homayun Khairi, Ms. Shafiqa Yarqin, and Ms. Halima Hazara Diba are the writers of the Song’s Book. At the end of the program, Zari character from Sesame Street talked about the importance of reading with H.E the First Lady, and H.E the First Lady requested the children to be friends and respect each other.   Ms. Nadiya Saleh, the Security and Women Affiars’ Advisor to H.E the First Lady, was also present in the ceremony.
